How it all started...
The Uprising started with a dream in the heart of Pastor Gary Burkins to bring love, hope, and healing to a world that needs Jesus. The very first meetings where held in his living room and the official first service of The Uprising was on Fathers Day, June 20th, 2010. There were 27 people that attended the first service.
Expanding the vision...
Now The Uprising is continuing the dream that was started in 2010. We are a vibrant, life giving church that is reaching across racial, economical, and social boundaries. We continue to see countless lives changed through love, hope, and healing, and we believe the best is still yet to come.
Where we are headed...
And the story of The Uprising will continue to be written. We will see drug addicts set free from the bondage of addiction, deaf ears opened, broken families restored, the hopeless given a destiny, outcasts welcomed in, the forgotten and overlooked given purpose, and many people dead in their sins brought to real life in Jesus.
